Beauty ToolsIf you want to do a good job, you’ve kind of got to have the right tools. That’s just fact. It’s the same for people all over the world, builders, lawyers, electricians and makeup lovers alike. You just wouldn’t expect to find a beautiful watercolour if the artist’s paint brush was falling apart, the same goes for painting your face! Today I’m going to share just a few of the different tools I use in my day to day to primp and preen myself within an inch of my life.

Unless you are very very lucky, you’ll probably have to curl your lashes to get sky high, long lashes. There really are only a few of us who can get away with just a quick slick of mascara. I however, am not part of that billion dollar lash club and rely heavily on my lash curler. And since a young age I was entranced by them, pink ones, gold ones, plastic ones (yes they exist) and even heated ones (yes they were as strange as they sound, like tiny tiny little curling tongs for your lashes). In recent years there has been one curler that crimps my straight lashes into the perfect position: The Shu Uemura curlers.

Next would be my ridiculously cheap, poorly made, but brilliant lash tweezers. I picked these up in a pack of three from eBay (similar here). They might be useless for anything you actually use tweezers for, but for putting on false lashes there are my go to. The small pointed end makes getting into hard to reach areas, like the inner corners of the eyes, easy and they place down the lashes with little effort.

And the final beauty tool I would recommend to anyone would be the Anastasia Beverly Hills Large Synthetic Duo Brow Brush #12. I picked it up on a whim from Cult Beauty after convincing myself that it would be the best brow brush of all time. Who would have known how right I would be? I love this brush; it made its way into my daily routine quicker than any other tool. The small, slanted brush applies products such as the Dip Brow Pomade like a dream, allowing you to make small, hair-like strokes of colour that would fool even Cara Delevingne herself! Any self confessed makeup addict will also know that not all spoolies are the same, this one is the spoolie. Brushes brows out like no other, smooths things over without taking away too much product and helps set brows into perfect position.

There are just a few of the tools of the trade, but what are yours? What would you recommend to all us artists without brushes?
