Brow Products

When you try a lot of different products, sometimes things don’t work out. In the case of eyebrows, I do try out a hell of a lot of products. Brows aren’t something you can just get right; not without a little trial and error. So with that in mind, it isn’t surprising I have a few disappointing brow products to share with you today.

Now disappointing doesn’t necessarily mean bad, I wouldn’t say these products aren’t worth a try, they just didn’t work for me. So one product that wasn’t bad, but just wasn’t great was the Soap & Glory Archery Brow Tint And Pencil. I quite liked the pencil side, a relatively small nib of waxy cool toned colour. It wasn’t my favourite to use to fill in my brows, but it was certainly a good option for brow filling on a budget. The other side however, the felt tip (the reason I brought the product) just didn’t work for me. I like the idea; a fine nib that allows you to draw on small wisps of colour to mimic brow hairs, but I couldn’t get it to show up in my brows. I found that using light, fast stroke over and over (how I assume it was intended to be used) just gave me no colour. I was left with a watery warm brown liquid that was hard to control siding all around my eyebrows. It’s a shame really, this could have been a great product.

The next product that disappointed me and my brows, is probably my own fault. I purchased the Makeup Forever Aqua Brow a few months ago. After using the Aqua Brow only a few times, it was relegated to the back of the draw. Completely my fault, I picked up the wrong shade. The colour 30 was just a little too warm for my liking. But it is worth mentioning that the aqua brow is a little too fiddly for me. As someone with a relatively full brow, the whole squeezing out onto the back of the hand and picking up just enough product was a bit too much for me. I purchased it before the introduction of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade, and since the queen of brows launched her revolutionary product, I haven’t looked back. If your in the market for an extremely long lasting brow, you have a Makeup Forever Counter nearby, and you are slightly lacking on the brow department, then the Aqua Brow might be for you. I’d suggest just going and having a play with the product first.
