Powders OverviewAs a fan of a glowing complexion, I sometimes find powders a little too, well, powdery. I have however, found a couple I actually like the look of on my skin, because lets face it…we all need a little careful powder placement sometimes.

Powders Overview OpenMy favourite and all time best powder I have ever owned is, of course, the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light. These powders from Hourglass really made a storm in the beauty world when they hit stores last year, and for good reason. They truly are unlike anything I have ever tried before. Not strictly a setting powder, Diffused Light sets makeup lightly and pretty much does what it says on the tin pretty compact. It gives skin the illusion of being subtly lit by a soft, diffused light, topping up any glow your foundation may have given you. I cannot wait to get my hands on another shade from the range, or the fabulous Ambient Lighting Powder Palette (a girl can dream)!

When I really need my makeup to last I crack out a high-street favourite, the Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder. Not as glow-inducing as the Hourglass powder, but still equally as beautiful if applied in the right way. I like to use the Bourjois powder just on the areas where I really need it like the under eyes, where concealer may start to crease, or around the nose, where concealer seems to disappear. This really is the best high-street powder out there, such a finely milled product that really makes skin appear flawless.

Paired together, with a light hand, these powders are like the A Team of makeup setting. Get perfect, glowing, even skin with just a few strokes of your brush, so tell me, have you tried them yet?
