Made From Beauty Alpha H OverviewAustralian company Alpha H is celebrating the fifteen-year release of their wonder product Liquid Gold. Check out their ode to the treatment here.

Liquid Gold is a Glycolic Acid based exfoliator that resurfaces the skin overnight. I have been using Liquid Gold and other Alpha H products for about a year now, and have fallen in love. I am currently rotating the original Liquid Gold, the Mirco Cleanse and the Liquid Gold Rejuvenating Cream in my skincare regime.

Alpha H Liquid Gold

Lets start with the original and the best, Liquid Gold. I buy mine in the smaller, deluxe sample bottles, as I only use mine once to twice a week depending on what my skin needs. When patted into the skin after cleansing and before serum, this little bottle of glorious water-like liquid exfoliates the top layer of the skin. The Glycolic Acid works to break down dull, dead skin and clears pores of all the nasties lurking in there. Liquid Gold is about as high a strength glycolic you can get in the UK without prescription and so I wouldn’t recommend it if you have sensitive skin, opt for something more like the Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Cleanser if you have sensitive skin to start with. All this talk of acid may seem scary, but if you incorporate acids into your routine I can promise you will see the difference almost immediately.

Before I started to use the Alpha H products I suffered with badly enlarged pores on my nose and chin, creating little lumps that I could feel when I washed my face. My skin was dull and often dry and flakey, but since my first night with Liquid Gold everything has significantly improved.

Liquid Gold Rejuvenating Cream

After loving the original treatment so much I treated myself to the Liquid Gold Rejuvenating Cream last year and I am just about to run out of it, which makes me so sad. I use this cream around three nights a week, sometimes on top of the Liquid Gold and other times just as the last step before bed. The cream contains a high amount of glycolic acid as well so it again helps with congested skin, dull skin and any light scarring. I would say this product is great for twenty-somethings who have light acne scarring or skin just in need of a little TLC. If you have mature skin you would be best to invest in the original Liquid Gold and top it off with a rich cream instead of relying on this to give you the moisture your skin needs. I must say I am in love with this product, it has a smooth, thick texture that plumps the skin and brightens it gradually day by day.

Alpha-H Micro Cleanse

My last Alpha H product I am in love with is the Micro Cleanse Exfoliator. With this scrub you get the best of both worlds, the acid exfoliation and the manual exfoliation thanks to the tiny beads suspended within the product. I like to use this maybe once every two weeks, or right before I put a facemask on as it really gets all the gunk out of my pours and gently scrubs away any dead skin really prepping the skin for a mask or a serum.

Every product I have ever used from Alpha H I have loved, I have also tried their Balancing Cleanser With Aloe Vera, their Absolute Eye Complex and their Essential Hydration Cream. My skin in its early twenties and is very hardy (I cannot remember the last time my skin was irritated by a product touch-wood!) but I have seen dramatic benefits of using the Alpha H Liquid Gold range.

So tell me, have you used any glycolic acids in your skincare routine and if so did you love the results? If you haven’t tried them, why not?
