Miss Manga Punky on RecordFor me, the L’Oreal Miss Manga mascara release last year was one of my favorite beauty launches of the year. It effortlessly creates volume and length, whilst holding a curl, in one sweep. So when I saw L’Oreal had released Miss Manga Punky, it went into my basket straight away.

Unlike the original, Miss Manga Punky has some seriously short plastic bristles. Designed to apply more of the product at once, the short bristles give less definition than the original. It is important to remember that the Punky version is not supposed to give as much definition; the wet formula and short bristles are supposed to give the lashes a clumpy, volumised look.

And here is a photo of my lashes with two coats of the L’Oreal Miss Manga Punky:

I actually really like the effect this mascara gives. With two coats I find it is very volumising, maybe a little on the clumpy side for everyday wear. Here I have paired the mascara with just a little of MAC’s Satin Taupe (wanna check out my MAC shadows? Take a look at this post). I think this mascara would compliment a heavier eye make up look, as it provides dramatic lashes quickly.

I then tried it layered on top of my everyday mascara of the moment, the L’Oreal Paris Volume Million Lashes So Couture Mascara and this is where this mascara really comes into its own. The Volume Million Lashes So Couture Mascara provides good volume, with lots of separation and length, so when layered with the Miss Manga Punky, I think the effect is beautiful:

I think the L’Oreal Miss Manga Punky would be a great buy if you are a fan of layering mascaras like me. I found the original Miss Manga mascara to layer really well, perfect for amping up your look from day to night and Miss Manga Punky does not disappoint in that department. It would look great with a little black khol smudged into the lash line, or a clean flick of liquid liner, creating one of the most dramatic lash looks available on the high-street.

The other plus side to this new launch; L’Oreal Miss Manga Punky is available from an incredible £5.99 at Superdrug stores for a limited time only.
